How we handle intellectual property rights on Mbube.io.
Last updated: April 21, 2026
The Mbube.io platform — including its source code, design, logo, branding, and original written content — is the intellectual property of Mbube.io and its operators, protected under Nigerian copyright law (Copyright Act 2022) and international conventions to which Nigeria is a party. Unauthorised reproduction, distribution, or adaptation of any part of the platform is prohibited.
You retain ownership of content you create and post on Mbube.io — including posts, images, audio recordings, and comments.
By posting, you grant Mbube.io a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display and distribute that content as part of the platform’s operation (see our Terms of Service for full details).
You must only post content you own or have explicit permission to share. Do not post copyrighted material (music, images, writing) without the rights holder’s permission.
Translation contributions made to the community dictionary form a collective language corpus for the Mbe and Obe languages. These contributions are treated as community-owned cultural heritage and are licensed for non-commercial, cultural preservation use. Contributors acknowledge that their translations may be used to train language tools for the benefit of the Mbube community.
If you believe content on Mbube.io infringes your copyright, please send a written notice to legal@admin.mbube.io containing:
We will review valid notices and take appropriate action — which may include removal of the content — within a reasonable timeframe.
If you believe content you posted was removed in error, you may submit a counter-notice to legal@admin.mbube.io explaining why the removal was mistaken. We will restore the content if the counter-notice is valid and the original complainant does not initiate legal proceedings within 14 days.
We maintain a strict repeat infringer policy. Accounts that repeatedly post infringing content will be permanently banned from the platform.
All intellectual property enquiries should be directed to legal@admin.mbube.io or via our Contact page.
